Talbots To Go Private

Sycamore Partners will pay approximately $193.3 million in cash to take The Talbots Inc. (NYSE: TLB) private, a lower price than originally offered before acquisition negotiations between the parties ended last week. Shares of the women's apparel retailer nearly doubled by jumping $1.11 to $2.40.
