Microchip Technology To Buy Standard Microsystems

Standard Microsystems Corp. (Nasdaq: SMSC) will be acquired by Microchip Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MCHP) for approximately $830 million in cash. Shares of Standard Microsystems leaped $10.07 to $36.31 while Microchip Technology stock eased a penny to $35.22.
