Walgreen To Take Stake In Alliance Boots

Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) will pay approximately $6.7 billion in cash and stock to acquire a 45% stake in Alliance Boots. Shares of the drugstore chain tumbled $1.93 to $30.03.
